At Starbank we pride ourselves on the number and variety of high quality out of school experiences we offer our pupils. Our wide ranging programme of visits includes the
- Black Country Living Museum
- Cadbury’s World
- Blakesley Hall
- Local museums
- The theatre
- and trips further afield such as Manchester Museum.
These opportunities are closely linked with the learning in school and support and enhance the curriculum.
We are extremely fortunate to have this Widlife Trust Education Centre on our doorstep. This excellent outdoor resource is only a short walk from school and is used by Starbank pupils of all ages for:
- Forest School
- Science (including habitats, animal & plant recognition & growth)
- and much more.
Yearly Attendance Trip!
At the end of each year, children who have had 100% attendance, enjoy a special trip. This year our trip was to a fun packed day at Drayton Manor Par.
At Starbank we offer KS2 pupils an annual residential trip, usually to Bell Heath Study Centre. This gives children a fantastic opportunity to challenge themselves (climbing, archery, team building activities) and learn to become more independent away from home for a few nights.
We also offer the older pupils the chance to spend a weekend camping in the Forest of Dean where they can enjoy sleeping, eating and playing in the great outdoors.
Each summer we take a small group of pupils to Normandy in France for a superb week of sight seeing, kite building, visiting the seaside and co-operating alongside pupils from Calthorpe Special School (who run the visit) and French students.
