As you are aware, Starbank Primary School (Starbank Road) was due to reopen to all pupils tomorrow.
Some of the professional associations have challenged the government regarding the reopening of schools and have advised members not to return.
We regularly update our risk assessments to check that our pupils and staff are safe. Having assessed the situation today, we regret to inform you that we will not have sufficient staff in school tomorrow to enable all classes to resume as we had planned. We will be open to pupils in Nursery and Year 6. Additionally, we are open for children whose parents/carers are critical keyworkers and for those who are defined as vulnerable.
An online form is provided that you should complete to confirm your intention for your child to attend tomorrow if they are within these groups.
If your child has an Education, Healthcare Plan (EHCP) and you would like to send your child to school from 5th January 2021, then please complete this form by 9pm this evening: http://bit.ly/SB-Covid19-Request
If you are a critical keyworker, there is no adult at home who is able to provide childcare, and you would like to send your child to school from 5th January 2021, then please complete this form by 9pm this evening: http://bit.ly/SB-Covid19-Request
We regret the inconvenience that this will cause you, and the disruption to your children’s learning.
A full remote learning timetable is in place for all pupils and will be delivered by the class teachers from Tuesday, 5th January 2021 via Microsoft TEAMS. Whilst all pupils in Year 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 will receive LIVE teaching, Reception pupils will follow a flexible schedule. More details regarding remote learning will follow later this evening.
Please ensure that your child attends their online lessons and completes the work set for them.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. We will inform you as soon as we know when we will be able to reopen fully.
