Dear Parent/Carers of pupils at Bierton Road,
Happy New Year! I hope you have enjoyed some family time over the Christmas break and are keeping safe and well.
In accordance with the DfE, Starbank School will re-open on Tuesday 5th January at the usual staggered timings to primary pupils. We are aware that there is significant media attention focussed on Birmingham schools and particularly primary schools. If the situation changes, we will contact you at the earliest opportunity.
We continue to implement a robust programme of measures, as shared in our Covid-19 protocols for pupils, parents and staff, in combination with an enhanced cleaning programme to minimise transmission of Covid-19 in school.
As part of the commitment to keep everyone safe and the school in operation, it is essential that children do not attend school if anyone in their household is displaying Covid-19 symptoms. If your child or someone in your household develops symptoms, all members of the household should not go to work, school or public areas. Household members staying at home for 10 days will greatly reduce the risk of the household passing it on to others in the community and hopefully reduce the number of bubble closures in school. Please see the PHE ‘Stay at Home’ Guidance for further information.
Can we remind parents to adhere to the bubble timings to minimise congestion on school site. As we shared last term, if you have children in bubbles with different timings, they can arrive at school for the earlier time of 8:30am and can be collected at the later time of 3:10pm.
Remote learning continues to be in place for isolating pupils as follows using Microsoft Teams (MS Teams).
Year Reception and Year 1
If pupils have to isolate, a weekly timetable will include daily lessons which will be a combination of recorded sessions and live lessons. This will be via MS Teams in Y1 and Tapestry in Reception. Paper work-packs and Oak National Academy lessons will also support the remote learning as part of the weekly timetable.
If pupils have to isolate, the weekly timetable of live lessons will be delivered via MS Teams. Key resources/materials pupils will need for lessons will be also be accessible via MS Teams.
Lastly, please take care when travelling to school and within the school site as the colder weather and icy conditions set in.
I look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday.
Ms H. Rifat
