Starbank Road Site Newsletter – Autumn 2019
Dear parents and carers,
It seems like only yesterday that the new school year began and here we are now with only a few days before Christmas! This half term has been incredibly busy, with pupils having visited a range of places including: Cadbury’s World, Birmingham Buddhist Vihara, EcoPark and River Cole. Pupils have also continued to take part in numerous art and drama projects as well as sporting trips and competitions. Our pupils and staff certainly deserve a well-earned rest!
Many of you are aware that Mrs Dosanjh will be leaving Starbank at the end of this term. Our best wishes and gratitude go to Mrs Dosanjh for her dedication and loyalty to the school over the past 13 years. It has been an honour and blessing working with her and we wish her every happiness in her future endeavours! We will also be saying a farewell to Mrs Cawthorne and Miss Chowdhury, who will be leaving for pastures new and Mrs Javed who will commence her maternity leave. We wish them well – they will be greatly missed by both our children and staff. We are pleased to
announce that we have the following teachers starting with us in the spring term, both with many years of teaching experience: Mrs Bhatti (RCN) and Mr Hussain (5J).
We would like to say a huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support. The pupils’ last day at school will be Friday 20th December, where they can come dressed in non-uniform and enjoy party celebrations. Pupils will be breaking up at the normal time of 3.00pm. Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year!
Mr Riaz (Deputy Headteacher), Miss Clifford & Miss Majid (Assistant Headteachers)
