Task: RE:

LO: To remember a Christian story about honesty

What is a lie? Do you think it was right to tell a lie?  What do we mean by being honest? Is it better to lie or tell the truth? Why? Can you think of a time this week when you have told the truth?

In which holy book would we find Christian stories? Explain that we are now going to read a Christian story called ‘Joseph and his Brothers’ showing how lies affect other people.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp8LulDzQgU

Stop at various points as you are reading to ask questions such as: Who was Jacob’s favourite son? Why? How did all of the brothers feel towards Joseph? Why? What did they decide to do to Joseph? Who lied in the story? Who was most hurt because of the lie the brothers told? (Jacob, their father) Why was he hurt? What does the story teach us?

Afterwards recall the main events of the story together.
