LO: To sequence the story
Watch the story again and recap the events. What happened in the story?
Look at the resources for this lesson. Can children sort/draw key parts of the story into their story map? What time adverbials can they match to each part of the story?

Topic:
Explore techniques for making surface patterns. Try printing shapes by dipping everyday objects in paint and pressing them on paper, try making rubbings of textured surfaces using wax crayons, try collaging with natural objects from the garden, try painting with forks or spatulas to see what patterns they make. Try as many techniques as you can!
Maths:
Get an apple or chocolate and get an adult to help you cut it into 4 equal pieces. These are called quarters. Write ¼ on a paper this means a quarter.

Research the five pillars of Islam and make a list of why they are important to Muslims.

LO: To Retell the beginning of the story
Look at the pictures from the story. Can you verbally retell the beginning of the story. Try and use these language features. Time adverbials, speech, conjunctions, noun phrases.

Reflect on yesterday’s techniques you explored. Which was your favourite visual effect? which did you find the most challenging/ easiest? Which material would you like to explore again?
Maths:
Draw a two pizzas and decorate them. Cut the first pizza in half (halves) and the second pizza into four (quarters).

Design your favourite story on paper. Draw the pictures for the key events and write the story.

LO: To create an alternative problem for the story
What was the problems within the story? How did Supertato fix the problem?
Now let’s create our own version. What kind of problem could happen (the evil pea kidnaps a vegetable, ties up a vegetable, sticks it to the wall)?

You are going to make an instrument from junk model materials. You are going to cover your instrument in an original surface pattern. Today’s task is to design that surface pattern. Use Sarah Bagshaw as inspiration. Think about colour, size and shape.

Tiptoe around the room. How could we travel on a ‘high’ level e.g. skipping, hopping? How can you travel on a ‘low’ level e.g. crawling, bunny hop? Use a body shape from last lesson and include a turn or jump with it.
