School Events in the new academic year 2020-2021

The current guidance is that there will be no parents’ evenings in school for at least the Autumn Term. However, we will be providing you with regular progress reports and making contact through phone calls. We await further guidance and will update you with more information in the coming months.

I would like to thank all parents and students who make every effort to keep to our uniform regulations. It has been wonderful to see Year 7 and many of our other students in the new Star uniform. Below is the school uniform guide as a reminder of school expectations. I am aware that many of you are still waiting for your PE kit to arrive.

If your child is in Year 8, 9, 10 or 11 and you are continuing to wear the current Starbank uniform; please note that the school still has a number of blazers, trousers and school ties which will be made available to families. Please do not hesitate to get in contact with your child’s Head of Year, to make an appointment and secure your purchase.

Secondary School Uniform for Year 7 and for students in Year 8-11, wishing to adopt the new uniform.

PE Kit

A number of students do not currently wear the correct Starbank PE kit. Can I please ask that students attending school on their PE day and currently not in the correct PE kit that they wear a plain black top and jogging bottoms. They should also be wearing their school blazer which is to be worn around school when not in PE lessons.

Face masks

Birmingham is currently in tier 2 Covid restrictions. It is an expectation that all students and staff wear a face mask as they move around communal spaces in school. Please assure that your child is prepared to return to school fully equipped with face masks including adequate replacements.

May I take this opportunity to wish you a restful and safe half term break. I look forward to welcoming all students back in on Monday 2nd November. Please be reassured that the school remains safe. We have robust measures in place to reduce the likelihood of COVID-19 spreading in our school. We have planned student groups carefully, so if we have a positive case we are able to work out quickly who may have been exposed to the virus. This will continue for the foreseeable future and I fully expect all students who are free of symptoms and who have completed self-isolation to be back in school after the break.

Stay safe and take care.

Best wishes

Mr. Gaetano Ferrante
