With English language, students can embark on career paths such as: journalism, law, teaching, politics, media and public relations.

What would I learn in English Language?

Students of English Language will students will explore and analyse a range of texts, including: fiction, non-fiction and literary non-fiction, from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

How would I learn in English Language?

Students of English Language will students will explore and analyse a range of texts, including: fiction, non-fiction and literary non-fiction, from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Students will be provided with many opportunities to develop higher-order reading and critical thinking skills that will encourage genuine enquiry into different topics and themes.

By studying a range of literary and non-literary texts, students will be able to use and apply their knowledge, gained from wide and critical reading, to inform and improve their writing where they write effectively and coherently.

  • Paper 2: Writer’s Viewpoints and Perspectives
