As of 1 October 2020, Starbank School joined Star Academies. On behalf of the Trust, I would like to welcome you to the Star family.
We would like to thank you for your input and feedback throughout the conversion process. We have listened carefully to what pupils, parents, staff, stakeholders and the local community have said. We have formulated our plans for the future of Starbank in light of this feedback and will continue to do so.
We have no doubt that the academy will benefit considerably from having ready access to the expertise, approaches and support that have enabled Star to deliver outstanding results elsewhere in the country and that our ongoing collaboration will create more opportunities for improved outcomes for our pupils.
Starbank School will adopt Star’s vision – Nurturing today’s young people, inspiring tomorrow’s leaders. It will also adopt the Trust STAR values – Service, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect. Over the coming months, we will be seeking your ideas on how we develop and embed the vision and values at the academy.
Now that Starbank School has joined the Trust, I must also inform you that Star Academies is the Data Controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that we are responsible for, and control the processing of, the personal data of pupils. This change does not affect your rights under the Data Protection Act 2018. The published Privacy Notice on the school website provides full details.
We very much hope that you will continue to support us on the journey to outstanding. A strong partnership with parents is critical to the success of the academy and its pupils and we look forward to working with you.
