Dear Parents/Carers and Year 11 Students

GCSE Results Day – Thursday 20th August

We are writing to inform you of arrangements for GCSE Results Day so that you feel reassured, prepared and know exactly what to do.

Due to the need for social distancing we will not be able to invite you in to school to collect your results. Instead, we have made the difficult decision to email them to you from 9.30am onwards. If you have not received your results by 11am please contact school by telephone.

In order for you to receive your results we will require your PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS. You will need to submit this to us via a link on the school website. https://bit.ly/Year11ExamsResponse

It is very important that you do this by the deadline of Monday 20th July 1pm. If you do not respond by this date your results will be emailed to your school email address.

We very much hope that your results are as you hoped they would be and that you are able to take up a Post 16 place of your choice in September.

However, if you do not get the results you need there will be a great deal of support available including a telephone advice service from 11am onwards on 0121 464 8412 Ext 1.  We would like to reassure you that we will do our utmost to help you secure a college place you are happy with.

College Enrolment

In normal circumstances, on Results Day, you would also be asked to go in person to the college of your choice in order to enrol for your place. However, this will NOT be happening this year. Colleges will be doing enrolment either on-line or with an appointment only system. Again, we will let you know more about this as colleges release information. Colleges will also contact you via email.

However, we would also strongly urge you to check college websites frequently during July and August because they will be posting updates regarding enrolment.

If you were planning on joining an apprenticeship scheme.  Please remember that it is essential that you have also applied for a BTEC or A Level college course as a back-up. Due to Covid-19 a large percentage of employers have been forced to suspend their apprenticeship schemes. Competition for places will be fierce. It is important that you persevere in your efforts by searching for vacancies on a weekly basis. This can be done via the National Apprenticeship website: https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship

Birmingham Careers Service is also available for students with a Birmingham postcode – information can be found on the following website: http://www.birminghamcareersservice.co.uk/. The main contact number for Birmingham Careers Service is 0121 675 6105.

If you require support with any college applications/CVs or general advice, please email:
