Introduction from G. Ferrante
Dear Parent/Carer
I am delighted to be able to write to you to congratulate you on securing a place for your child at Starbank Secondary School from September 2020.
A successful transition is vital in supporting all children in adapting to life in a secondary school and despite the current national crisis we want to assure you that transition to our school will be as smooth as possible.
I now consider you and your son/daughter as part of the Starbank Secondary School family and we will all aim to support you in whatever way we can. I and all staff are very much looking forward to meeting you all in September. Unfortunately, as you know we are unable to have your son/daughter in school for their normal induction day so we have moved our transition to the website.
In the meantime, so we can have everything ready for the start of September, please complete all of the consent forms and school/parent agreements included within the pack you have received and return to Ms Amarjit Bhogal at the Hob Moor Road office. It is important that all sections of the pupil information consent pack are completed accurately. Once submitted, if any of the information changes, please let us know as soon as possible so our records are kept updated.
I also want to bring to your attention that all year 7 will begin in September in the new Star uniform. The information for this is provided in the induction pack. This uniform is provided by Stevensons retailer. Please note that if you already have children at the secondary school who would be in Y8-11 from September 2020, that they will be allowed to remain in the current Starbank uniform until a change is needed. I will be writing to all parents soon regarding this.
I will look forward to working with you closely in the near future, to ensure that your child realises their ambition and potential. Should you have any questions, in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact us at school. Ms Marie Alcock and Ms Kirran Qureshi will be able to help with the majority of queries.
I am delighted to have your child join us and look forward to meeting you all in the future.
Yours faithfully
Mr G. Ferrante
